Alicyn + Cori Smith
January 21st, 2023
What a dreamy winter wedding celebrating Cori + Alicyn! Every detail was so elegant, sweet, and fun just like the couple! Their day started at a beautiful AirBNB in downtown Sandusky, overlooking the water. Getting ready with the girls was full of such fun jitters of excitement and celebration for the bride. Alicyn wore a robe made out of her mothers wedding gown, which was such a special touch! We then ventured to the church, where the guys were getting ready. The best man surprised Cori in a dress, by pretending to be Alicyn for a fun first look! There were tears of laughter, especially when the couples grandparents drove past waving to the best man in his beautiful bridal gown.
The ceremony was stunning, with gorgeous stain glass windows as a backdrop to their vows at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. We made sure to stay behind after the ceremony to take advantage of some gorgeous Bride + Groom portraits here. These were some of my favorite, timeless photos of the entire wedding day! After portraits, a party bus picked them up to bring them to their venue, Camp Perry Conference Center, where we ended the night with dancing, laughs, and lots of LOVE!
Congratulations to the Smith family! Check out their love story, vendors, and highlights from their wedding day!
The Smith Love Story: Written by Alicyn
Cori is an assistant construction manager and I'm a nurse. Our families are both very close friends(my aunts, grandma and uncle to his mom and dad). My aunt and grandma kept telling me about him a couple years ago as his mom was telling him about me. Eventually we both reached out online. I asked him to be my plus one to my cousins wedding, then we took a weekend trip to west Virginia and we've been inseparable since. We rode our bikes through the metro park in Sandusky and came to a beautiful double row of pine trees. About a month later(memorial day) he took me on a picnic there and asked me to marry him. Our first Halloween together, we dressed up as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled. My ring is Disney Collection Rapunzel ring. His ring is my grandma and grandpa(both passed) wedding bands melted together. Cori is a big time nerd(we both are) and he said he wanted it to looks like The Lord of the Rings ring. I added a little something when they were making it. Inside the ring, it says "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" a quote from harry potter(one of his favorite movie series)
