Their Love Story
(written by Rikki)
Ken works construction and I work at an operational center for a bank. We met 6 years ago at what used to be called the green emerald. His best friend and my best friend were dating at the time and they had asked us to go out with them. I was not a big fan of Ken when we first crossed paths. Oh, but did he grow on me! There were numerous times we would all get together and he would try his hardest to get my number and I would say no every time but one night I was just like what the heck. Ever since that day we've been together. Our relationship has never really been traditional! When we made it official we moved in together shortly after and had Kenny 3 years later. 5 months after having Kenny it was Valentine’s Day 2020, so you could say I was still a little hormonal from having our child. Ken and I were both up getting ready for work and I was waiting for him to tell me happy Valentine’s Day, I tried to stay calm and not be irrational but it was about time for him to leave so I decided I was going to say something. So, I went full force and started yelling asking him why he doesn’t appreciate me and why he never does anything nice for me (I mean after all I did just give birth to his child). He tried to stay calm but I just kept giving it to him and he finally yelled back and said I don’t do anything for you? That’s why I just went out and bought you a ring 💍. Boy, did my attitude change, I was kind of speechless I didn’t know what to say. He was getting ready to walk out the door and we had apologized and made up. After he left that’s all I could thing about so I tried to find the ring (he had it hid good.) I texted him and asked if I get the ring after we get off work and he told me no he had to ask my dad first. After he asked my dad I finally got my ring. Til this day ken has never officially asked me to marry him. But we’ll have a story that we will remember forever. We have built such a beautiful life together.
